Last month was pretty rough. I don’t feel like getting into all of the details of what happened, but let’s just say that it was the worst month I can remember in a long time. This may sound like I’m being overly dramatic, but if you ask anyone who knows me, they will confirm that the events that took place last month were quite hard on me.

Fortunately, it seems like this month is off to a better start. Things seem like they are taking a turn for the better, and I hope that this trend is an indicator of how things are going to go for me during the foreseeable future.

Even though times were quite hard, it really showed me what a great group of friends I have. Not only did they go out of their way to see how I was doing, but regardless of the time of day, if I needed someone to talk to, I could always count on my friends picking up their phones.

To celebrate things getting better, one of my friends gave me a leather jewelry box yesterday. She said that when she saw this leather jewelry box, she thought I would love it, and after seeing it for myself, I have to say that her assumption was completely correct.

Last month was my sister’s birthday. I have always been very close with my sister, so I wanted to make sure that I gave her a birthday present that she would really like. The great thing about my sister and I is that we are actually nine years apart (in case you’re wondering, I’m the older one). Although people thought this was strange when we were younger, I’ve always thought that it is a great thing. Unlike siblings who are only a couple of years apart, my sister and I have really never had anything to argue about. Since we have always been at different stages in our lives, we have been able to stay close without ever having something come in between us. I’ve always loved being an example for her, and I know that she still looks up to me (just like she has since she was a little girl).

So, after spending time shopping for the perfect gift, I came across a leather jewelry box. She had mentioned several times that she was running out of room for her jewelry collection, so I knew that a leather jewelry box would be perfect. When she opened the leather jewelry box on her birthday, she told me that it was exactly what she had wanted!
